Web Application

OLS represents a user-friendly web application initially developed by Organi Bvba, and rebuilt and modernized by our IT experts. As a comprehensive software, it is used for file validation, importing and exporting processes, shipment tracking and tracing, viewing the delivery status, accounting follow-ups, scheduling transport, monitoring the location of the ship and the delivery address,

managing container logistics, handling the whole supply chain on top of freight forwarding and more.

The system also enables for efficient sales and purchase invoicing, tariff management, workflow control, financial management, document management. It supports cost-effective shipments by air, road, sea and rail.

We are delighted to share that the project met our expectations in terms of budget, scope and development time. The end-result was a responsive web application with an attractive user-interface, offering a great user-experience. Built on the robust Telerik Kendo UI and Angular JS, OLS has become the best guarantee for continuity, reliability and ease of use for our customers in logistics. Besides the modernization of the business web application, this first project with BGO Software was an important project to upscale our in-house UX skills by using new technologies. We can use this experience to upgrade our other solutions in the same way. This way, we can keep up with the competition and can remain one step ahead in this rapidly evolving market. We will definitely do more projects together with our BGO Software friends.

Solution & Results

Our client requested re-architecture of their application – OLS – which was initially based on OpenEdge. The main idea was to focus on modernizing the interface of Organi’s application, simplify its usability, make it more agile, visually attractive and better organized, using progressive technologies.

The biggest challenge was to perform the transition and optimize the interface with minimal changes to the back-end. At first, our client wanted to use Kendo UI on top of JQuery for the client-side. However, we suggested implementing Kendo UI on top of AngularJS.

We began by thorough assessment and review of the current state and IT infrastructure. Our experts analyzed the application’s stability for modernization, its size, complexity and design of its database. After preparing wireframes, clarifying all the operational and technical specifics, and completing the strategic planning, we allocated our Kendo UI specialists and team leaders. We extended the functionalities of the existing software with an e-portal, granting customers 24/7 real-time access to their data and stock.

The continuous communication, reporting and monitoring of every procedure allowed us to complete the project in less than 3 months. After the project delivery, our experienced Kendo UI consultants organized three-day Kendo UI training for Organi’s developers.
